Neutogena - Pantene - Aussie Moist. All of them have good products to help damaged hair, although you don't say what damaged it. Too much dye or bleach, or perms, etc.

Shampoo and/or conditioner can not repair hair that is 'dead'. Shampoos are used to remove product buildup, mineral deposits, etc. They do not have restorative abilities, and the same goes for conditioners. Conditioners and moisturizers can be used to replenish lost moisture due to chemical and heat processes such as TR, perms, relaxing, coloring, curling/flat-ironing, etc.
Using conditioners full of humectants (ingredients that draw moisture to the hair)and emollients(ingredients that impart moisture and improve manageability) can help to prevent damage, along with proper hair maintenance and overall health(mental and physical), but nothing will repair it. No matter what the product claims.

If you are using alot of chemicals, and are constantly applying heat to your hair, you'll need to cut that out(or atleast minimize usage). Your hair can't improve in condition if you are still using a routine that is counterproductive. Find ways to style your hair that requires less manipulation. If you want to color your hair, opt for deposting color(semi or demi permanent), not lifting color.

If the hair is damaged, cut the damaged parts off. There is no use in holding on to damaged length. It doesn't look good, and it can also iinhibit healthy growth because the splits on the ends can spread up the hair strand, causing even more damage.

Honey: for beautiful hair you need a combination of products and proper hair behaviour. You should only use professional caliber products such as Tony&Guy, Wella, Redken, etc. You may pay a bit more, but the quality is certainly worth your money and your peace of mind. I recommend any deep conditioner and moisturizing shampoo from any of the aforementioned brands as well as using the blow dryer sparingly and always with a diffuser. Switching to an Ionic blow dryer will do wonders for your hair as well since this type of dryer actually lets your hair keep more of its moisture instead of simply blowing hot air like all the others.
You pay enough for hair care so use the right hair tools and products to protect your investment.
Cheers,
Mr. M on "damaged hair."

Get your split ends cut off then use Redken or a high end shampoo/conditioner. I would suggest going to some place other then Cost Cutters or Fantastic Sam's to get your hair cut and then ask them for a good brand to use! I personally love Redken! I can usually go about 6 months with out a hair cut and very little split ends.

is it damaged from a perm or coloring if so I used treseme for damaged hair and it worked awesome. Anything with Panethenol in it will help restore moisture and strengthen it. If its possible cut some of it out at least the dead ends. GL
Chas
PS try to avoid any kind of heat for awhile also
(blow dryers curling irons etc)
treseme I bought from wal mart but you an get it anywhere

I have really dry and frizzy hair and I have tried almost all shampoos and conditioner and the one I like the best is dove for dry and damaged hair and every so often i get the dove therapy for dry and damaged hair.

Nothing can really repair it... Some shampoos can make it appear to be fixed for a short time but nothing repairs it. Just cut it off gradually and it will be in much better condition.

Try several products. Dove works really well and what I've found out really works is the Pantene Hair Restoring Hair Mask. It comes in a round tube and I noticed a difference in my hair after one try.
