What would be a good gift to give a girl that barely know for her Bridal Shower? I thought about getting something from Bath and Body Works but another girl that is going has already gotten her something from there. She isnt registered anywhere for her wedding.

They have lived together for about 3 years and have all the household things they need.

Although you may not know this bride very well, there is a reason you were invited. If you have not accepted the invitation, you can always send your regrets, and no gift is necessary, but since it sounds like you have already accepted the invite, you have no choice but to bring a gift. It doesn't need to be expensive or from their registry, it just needs to be from the heart. Here is a simple, yet memorable gift.

Get a bottle of champagne (Ballatore is great and yet inexpensive), a box of two Godiva chocolate covered strawberries (you might want to ask about allergies ahead of time, just in case), two nice, but inexpensive champagne flutes and a lavender scented candle. Your card should read something like this.

"To the bide and groom. Your life together has already begun, and your wedding plans may seem to consume you, but tonight allow yourself to take a moment together for yourselves. Sit back, Relax, Enjoy each others company, Forget about all the plans and deadlines, and just remember why we are all here today...because we celebrate your love!"

It may sound cheesy, but you will be thanked and remembered kindly, and you will not have broken the bank to get a gift.

I've been at the a few bridal showers in the past year, and a few of the neatest gifts have been simple things that the girl loves. Hard for you cause you barely know her, Can you pick some of her friends heads? Or what about, Gift certificates to local stores, then she can pick out what she wants. There is the idea and my Friend does a great job of it, make up a Lil gift basket of inexpensive, yet cute things i.e. candles, wine glasses, a bottle of nice wine, a romantic movie, chocolates, and a "couples" book. It is bridal shower, she is getting married, she has to have some fun gifts.
Have fun with the basket, I've seen them at a couple of showers, where you can even theme them to certain meals, like an Italian dinner basket. All the things you need to have a nice pasta meal and a bottle of wine and throw in chocolates for fun and decoration. You don't have to know someone well to make a fun Lil basket, anyone would have fun receiving it.
Or one other gift was Start a recipe book for her, and put blanks in so at the shower people could write favorite recipes for her if they wanted too. I love my recipe book that has the blanks so i can fill it in with other peoples recipes. At a friends shower everyone was sent a recipe card with the invite, to help fill a book for the bride-to-be.

Everyone loves gift cards! I'd get one for someplace like Bed, Bath & Beyond, Linens & Things, Kohls, or Victoria's Secret. If you're really against the gift card idea (which many poeple are, I know!), you could put together a gift basket of a bunch of little things which someone would need when starting a life together (things like spatulas, can openers, cleaning supplies, baking utinsels, etc.) -- just be sure to include a gift receipt from wherever you got it from, in case she ends up with too many of something!

Why are you attending a shower for someone you don't know? People are supposed to invite only their nearest and dearest to a shower.

Furthermore, why is she even being given a shower, if she has no need for household items? Showers are for couples who are just starting out and who need others' assistance in putting a household together.

What is going on with these people?

Give them a kitchen gadget of some sort and be done with it.

If you attend you need to bring an actual physical gift, however small (actually, preferably small). Gift certificates and money are NOT appropriate shower gifts.

human beings can %. presents from the marriage registry in the event that they opt to deliver a recent to the engagement occasion. so some distance as showers, the hosts of those will determine in case you may desire to sign up for regular issues or if there's a topic to the presents. case in point, a elementary subject for a bridal bathe is kitchen or mattress room stuff, and the hostess will specify a kitchen bathe, or mattress room bathe, and visitors will deliver issues that flatter that subject. (The mattress room subject can get kinky, and who registers for that stuff? *evil grin*) All you want is the only considerable registry, and something will safeguard itself from there. you're completely precise that a lot of those separate registries are grasping, and that they do deliver the message that a recent is envisioned for each little thing, in the different case you does not have registries particularly for each journey. undergo in strategies that those to-do lists in magazines are subsidized by using the agencies putting classified ads, and that they want you to think of you have tor sign up for this way of good form of issues which you are going to at last sign up for their stuff too. showing as much as in basic terms the marriage with one present is definitely quiet costly, fairly thinking commute is many times includes. such as you, i'm additionally troubled by using the transforming into expectation that presents will take delivery of this way of good form of cases for the period of an engagement. it is so costly, and visitors are bled dry.

i agree with etiquette girl completely.
however, if you must go then you must have a small gift.
i would suggest a picture frame. you can purchase some lovely ones for reasonable prices. a nice 8"x10" silver frame shouldn't cost you very much and is a perfect gift for an acquaintance.
