Hi Karen,
No one can tell you what saint you should pick. Your name saint should be very personal.
I wanted a nice girly saint. But God led me to St. Maximilian Kolbe. The martyr of Auschwtiz. Max Marie is my confirmation name.
Here is a very good Patron Saint index:
http://www.catholic-forum.com/saints/indexsnt.htm
See at the very top right corner you can view by topic. If there is something you love, such a someone mentioned finding a saint of singing. That's where you'd find it.
You mentioned basketball in another question. St. Sebastian is the patron saint of sports.

Or if there is a name you like go to the Name index.
Someone mentioned St. Anne. There are a GREAT many saint Annes. But for the sake of a short post, we'll assume she means Anne, Mary's mother.

You also mentioned talking to your Baptist friends about Catholicism. Maybe evangelism is your thing.
Saint Paul (pauline if you like) would be the patron saint.

One of my current favorite devotions is the Divine Mercy
Sister Faustina:

What is your birthday? Maybe you want the name of the saint celebrated on your birthday? Although, having a separate name saint celebration is way more fun. TWO parties!
Send me a message when you pick. I'd love to know!!!

Well, you've got all the saints and many angels to choose from. You can even pick Mary if you want (my best friend did that). I'll put in a good word for Joan of Arc, she's my patron saint.

Check out this website and click on a few categories. Chances are there is a saint with your name or a relative's name if you want choose based on that.
Also, if you go to http://www.wikipedia.org and type in the month and day of your birthday and scroll down to the section called "Holidays and observances --> Liturgical feasts", you can find a list of saints whose feast days are on your birthday.
Hope all this helps, and have a very blessed confirmation!
**Edit: if you want to search for saints based on your interests, go to Yahoo! and type in "patron saint of..." (anything, art, music, whatever).

Think about the things in your life that you need to work on; what leads you to sin. Then go to the site below and click on "list by topic." It will list topics and the saints that are patrons of those topics. The saint you choose should be one that will help you be a better Christian.

If there is someone in your family who you admire, you can choose her name. Otherwise, think about what is important to you and find a saint whose life reflected that. For example, I'm a musician and my confirmation name (and saint) is Cecilia, patroness of music.
Here's a site where you can look up names by alphabet or by "patron saints" - http://www.catholic.org/saints/ Good luck, and congrats on your Confirmation!

Pick something special to you...someone who either inspires you or whom you have something in common. I chose St Germaine Cousin because she was abused as a child.all her life really, and so was I. I've always felt like an ugly duckling and she was hideously disfigured by scroffula(a tubburculosis like disease making huge lumps grow out of her neck) I was so moved by how she kept her faith and inner strength through all her adversities so I chose her to be my Saint...because I want to stay strong in my faith like her.

Whomever you feel most "kinship" with in "spirit". There are sweet gentle ones, tough nuns who got things done, ones that stumbled onto their "holiness" almost by accident... you just have to pick who you admire and would like to be most like or have as a "guide"/teacher.
