Yes... My beagle is a tri-color, but he was mostly black as a pup. As he got to a year/year and a half years old, some of the black has been replaced by brown (similar to what you describe). We talked with other beagle owners and their dogs turned completely brown and lost any trace of black.
My beagle is 4 now and has a little black left on his head. The black looks like he has sideburns which is quite cute.
Also, as he ages I noticed the fur around his eyes are slowly turning white. :-( My boy is growing old.
As the dogs get older, they do start graying. We rescued an 8 year old beagle and his face is quite white, but his coat is still tri-color.

RE:
Does beagle fur change color over time?
My beagle is just turned one year old. Her hips were black but are slowly getting more and more brown. I've read that beagles often have their fur change color over the first 1-2 years of their lives and maybe for their whole lives. And I've also heard that the skin pigmentation of...

My cousins had a beagle many years ago, I do recall the animal's fur colour changing as the dog aged, they get lighter around the face too over time, especially breeds like golden retrievers.
I have a 10 year old domestic short haired cat, she was much darker when I first acquired her as a 2 year old stray, lately I have noticed a lighter coloured coat, almost brown-black coat and she definitely has flecks of grey in her fur too.
All breeds of dogs and cats age very much like humans do, except we get grey hairs.
Remember too that 1 year of human life is equivalent to 7 years of a dog/cat life.
I would not be concerned about the changing fur colour, it's all part of the aging process.
Hope this helps you.

Beagles do tend to change color. And as they age it will change some what.
When the beagle reaches it's senior years it's muzzle will turn grey and it will take on the look of an older dog.
be careful feeding your beagle too, I noticed that when I was younger that my parents were always feeding our beagle table scraps etc. and when she got older she was very fat and could hardly move. they tend to gain weight easily.

My parents beagle did the same thing when he was little. He is now about seven and he starting to change colors again, greying along the mouth and ears. I think it is just a natural progression of hair, whether it is on a dog or a human.

Yeah I've had beagles and friends who've had beagles and I guess it's just a normal thing for that breed. Nothing to worry about.
