I want to be able to boot into a PC in a DOS environment, (MS DOS, Free DOS, DR DOS, etc..) and be able to READ DVDs. I am NOT interested in playing a DVD MOVIE on ms Dos. I do not care about movies. What I want is to be able read computer files, to see the file structure inside the DVD and open some DOS supported files in a DOS environment.

MS-Dos Ver 3.1 or higher will be needed and you will also need a Ms-Dos Device Driver your dvd-rom/RW to be able to access the dvd-drive ( I think one of the four generic cd-rom device drivers shipped with windows 98 will work too). These device drivers are most likely available at the manufacturer of your optical drives website.

I was able to access information on a DVD using MS-DOS 6.11 (running under MS-Virtual PC).
