SYSCO does not make the food they are a food distribution company. The are many name brand companies that produce products for Sysco, you just don't see their name on the box (Heinz ketchup, but you see SYSCO ketchup.)

Sysco headquarters is in Texas and was founder by John Baugh ( who actually just die early March 2007) With over $30 billion in sales they are they largest food distribution in the US. They are a publicly traded company on the stock market and will continue to grow through the years.

Sysco carries everything from eggs to high grade meats. They can also outfit your entire restaurant is you like. Just give them an empty space and they will fill it with everything needed to run you business, tables, chairs, food , dish washers, mops you name it they have it.

Hope this helps.

Sysco is a very good food distributor. And yes, that is real meat. It might be cheap meat, but it is meat. I'm surprised your school doesn't order from Martin Bros. Sysco is really good food, to be trusted. I used it at my restaurant all the time.

Good for you for being smart enough to check on what you are really eating! I used to own a restaurant, and can tell you that sysco foods use cheap ingredients, and loads of fillers, artificial colors and preservatives, dyes, and all sorts of stuff. They are typical institution food suppliers. If you want details, call the school nutritionist, but don't be to shocked by the ridiculous answers you might get. You have a right to know what is being serves, and should be provided with a list of ingredients. I called the local school nutritionist in my town, and was told that the sauce on pizza counted as a vegetable, as did french fries. The ketchup served with corn dogs counts as a veggie to, in their mind. I pack a hot thermos lunch for my daughter every day, so she can avoid that toxic stuff. Most likely the meat is government surplus, which goes to the school AFTER the best cuts go to prisons, the military, and then schools. Shocking, but its true. Good luck on your journey for good health. My 12 year old daughter and I are vegetarian, and we know alot about nutrition. Feel free to email either of us
