Currently, I am at a job that sucks the life out of me. Now, I have tried to apply for other jobs and currently waiting for a response. It has been a month since and they will not give me closure. Additionally, my current job is getting me further and further depressed. It is taking the fun out of life in general. Any recommendations?

I was in a similar situation like that 8 years ago. I worked at a company that didn't give a s*h*i*t about it's employees. On top of that, my boss happened to be the founder's punk assed son, who was a clueless moron. Talk about nepotism.

What I did while I was looking for another job was just to constantly tell myself that THIS IS ONLY TEMPORARY! I'm not a "lifer" like some of the old timers there and that I'll soon get the hell out of here and I'll never see any of these people ever again.

Also tell yourself that you are not just about this job. I'm sure you have outside interests like hobbies, sports, friends & family. Focus on those, especially on the weekends.

I did get out of there. And man, when you tell your boss that you quit........that will be your reward for putting up with their crap.

Have you tried going to employment agencies that place people in your field? Once you register with them and let them know what you want, they contact you when they have job openings come in. Also, Yahoo.Jobs also is a very good place to look for employment. It took me 3 1/2 months to find a new job, it does take patience and perserverence. Also, I think people don't move around too much in the winter months. I think there are more job openings in the Spring and Summer. Good luck, and don't give up!

I am in a similar situation... I just go clock in do my work and go home. I have limited my conversation to very few people and don't elaborate on any of my personal life. I stress the fact I am there to do my job and get paid -not make best friends with co-workers, etc.. it has worked well. I focus on what I am there to to and get it done and dont dwell on all the distractions or drama that upset me before.

I felt like that in school.... I found a good friend that felt the same way. We went out to dinner or hiking a lot and bit*** a lot about how much we hated school... we actually ended up liking going to school just so that we could have something more to bit** on our next hiking adventure!

I enjoy "real life" out of school now, but we still call each other and complain about how much school sucked! lol

I like "Candace" advise. Just go, punch the clock , keep to yourself, but be social, make money and tell yourself this is not forever.
