Ok so y'all like to ask us why not believe in god cuz if your right you win big and if you're wrong no biggie cuz you're dead anyhow. My question to you is: Is that the only reason you believe in him? If not why would you want us to try to trick "god"?

Hey Courtney... great question!

Here's another good question: Doesn't "Pascal's wager" work equally well for ANY religion? And doesn't its "logic" compel the thinking person to simultaneously believe in ALL religions where the upside benefits to "believing" outweigh the downside benefits of not believing?

Christians who use Pascal's Wager as a justification for their "beliefs" should study a few more religions... they might conclude (if they are being honest with themselves) that they should also become practicing Zoroastrians, Jews, and Satanists!

No, the truth is that nothing anyone says or does can convince you. Hey, I was alot like you 30 years ago, but over that time I've experienced things. Things that could be ascribed to coincidence, but could also be described as something quite different. And when I look back on the totality of those experiences, those coincidences, I can't help but believe that there was the hint of the divine present there.

You have to experience it for yourself and draw your own conclusions. I'd just say to you what you'd probably say to me, "keep an open mind". And when you perceive something odd or ironic, or whatever, analyze it with that open mind.

Pascal's wager belongs to the same folks that use Jack Chick's comic books for religious education. It is a foolish idea and pretending to believe in something just to CYA is hardly sincere spirituality. Peace be with you

thats the reason why i htink pascals wager does not make sense. i do believe in god, and not because of pascals wager, and i know u cant pretend to follow god. so ur best bet would be to find proof that god exists. after u do, ur good to go. pascals wager makes sense theoretically but not realistically.

Pascal's wager is purely completely stupid as a controversy for believing in God. in reality the wager claims to maintain one from judgement while the scriptures so for sure say in any different case. that is ironic that any Christian who hangs their eternity consistent with this rubbish might in certainty wind-up in hell instead. purely amazingly stupid.

God can see into your heart so tricking him won't work.
Christians don't just believe in God. True Christians love God.

Immortality is a belief that is expressed in nearly every religious tradition. Every religion, including Western and Eastern, is all about having an eternal life because people are afraid to die

I think Pascal's wager is bullcrap. You have to seek God humbly, and accept him fully, not because of a reward. Not "just in case".

Golly no, its not the only reason, and for me, not even a real reason for me to believe in God. I believe in God because I have personal proof in my life He exists, but it only works for me, it doesnt have to work for everyone.

And I wouldnt ever suggest anyone trick God, no, defintley not.

What is really funny is that if there is a god they are likely choosing the wrong god and only pissing off the real god.
