The nipples have varying accounts. Some people say it heightens sensation and other say that it dulls it. My husband had his done and loved them, but now he has huge scars and he regrets getting it done.
Now for my soap box. Most people cannot get thier clit pierced. Most women's bodies cannot do it. Their anatomy isn't correct. Your clit has to be a certain size and protrude out far enough to even pierce it. On top of that, most piercers don't feel comfortable doing it. And the final straw is that it CAN kill nerve endings, which isn't what most women want.
It is most commonly confused with a vertical hood. This pierces the skin ABOVE the clit. This is usually done with a curved barbell so the bottom ball rests on the clit and can provide more stimulation. Since this only pierces a little flap of skin, it doesn't actually do any damage to nerve endings, though people complain of less sensation after it is taken out, mostly because they're so used to the extra sensation on thier clit.
Getting your clit hurts--A LOT. It'll swell up quite a bit and you'll be out of commission for a few months. Getting your hood pierced is pretty painless (my least painful piercing ever). It heals in about 2 weeks and since it so close to the self cleaning parts of your body, you don't have to coddle it nearly as much as other piercings.
That being said, I totally recommend the hood (unless you tend to reject quickly) over the nipples. Even if your hood scars up, it'll be small and not nearly as noticeable. Plus, the chances of increased pleasure is much more certain with a hood piercing rather than nipples.
And lastly, it is great fun going to the gyno for your annual and freaking them out. :)

I can't say from personal experience, but as sensitive as these areas are, they could hurt a lot if not done correctly, and still hurt some even if they are. It depends on a persons sensitivity and pain tolerance.
Clitoral piercings can cause some loss of sensation, so what some women do is get the hood, rather than the clitoris itself, pierced.

had my nipples pierced for a year. speaking from personal experience, they were the most painful piercings ive gotten (i've had 7). i dont know if the piercer sucked or what, but it hurt me so bad, i was literally clawing paint off the walls. and they never did heal right, not even a year later so i took them out.
on the other hand, my friend got her nipples pierced also and claims it didnt hurt at all! and they're looking a lot better than mine ever did.
i dont know if our immune systems are different or my piercer did a bad job, but in any case, there's no way to tell for sure how it'll feel for you.
also, you do eventually start to lose feeling.

I've had my clit pierced for 3 years now. It barely even hurt when I got it done. For a few days after it was a little sore but that's about it. 3 years later, it still feels amazing.

I would 'imagine' not too good. I couldn't get my nipples pierced in fear of loosing the nice feeling I get when they are played with *wink wink*.
And why would you want your clit pierced? You destroy some of the nerves found in it; and the clit is what gets us women excited.

when i got my nipples done it just felt like a sharp pinch then a burning sensation afterwords, when finally healed i got more sensitive! and to what i know however ur nipples get bigger, see it hurts usually more for a guy to get his nipples done becase they aren't use to being bumped and stuff like us girls, not to mention they got more muscle there as for the clit well i never got that done nor will i ever, i know one person who has and she said it hurt like hell, and they are also known to loose sensation because of it.

you're not getting your clit pierced.... you are getting the hood peirced, that little piece of skin that hides the clit. i've known many people who've had it done and they've said it's the least painful peircing you can get. there are not many nerve endings at all in the hood and it heals fairly quickly.
