Go to the store and buy Ravioli (or whatever it's spelled) and open the can and put into a microwave bowl, then put it into the microwave oven for 90 seconds. Nothing is simpler than that.

rice is easy to cook. Get a rice cooker (you could probably get one for free on Freecycle.
you just put rice and water (there are instructions on the rice bag how much water to use for how much rice) , add some salt or a bullion cube and plug it in. When it is done, the light comes on and you can find something else to go with it.
What I used to do was buy some ground turkey and sautee a half of an onion in a shallow pan (you put a little oil in the bottom of it, chop the onion to small pieces and cook it in the oil until it starts turning light brown) and then add the ground turkey and you can add a few other things like chopped peppers.. maybe a little garlic, a small amount of ginger root. stir it all up and put it on your rice when the meat is cooked (it doesn't take long and you can tell when it isn't red anymore)
Be creative Try different things. Have fun.
it won't kill ya.

Spaghetti and sauce is easy and filling. Have them purchase the ready made variety or make your own out of canned tomatoes and Italian herbs. Use 1 15 oz can of diced tomatoes or tomato sauce, add 1 T Italian herbs, 3 T olive oil, and any left over meat you might have in the fridge (no fish please!) Simmer while spaghetti noodles cook. Drain noodles and toss with sauce. Top with cheese.

Chili Mac: 1 can chunky chili, 1 cup cooked macaroni, 1/2 cup frozen corn, 1/2 cup chopped green pepper (optional). Heat chili, add corn and green pepper. Toss with macaroni.

Quesadillas: Take a flour tortilla and top with cheese, veges, meat and grill until cheese melts

You sound like you're a budding cook. Take a look at Allrecipes.com or AOL Food.com for more recipes. Good luck!

Hi! First thing: when making "grilled " sandwiches, use low to medium heat. When boiling pasta use med-high heat. Be careful draining the hot water!
Grilled cheese-2 slices buttered bread, cheese of choice. Put one slice buttered side down in skillet, add cheese, watch to see if it is melting, then add other piece of bread (butter side up) and flip it over. First side about 2 1/2 min.
A variation on the above is to drain a can of tuna, add about 2 tablespoons mayo, and add to middle of toasted cheese. Should be enough for two sandwiches.
Casserole- 1/2 pckg. noodles. Cook according to directions. Drain. Add 1 can drained tuna and 1 can of mushroom soup straight out of the can. Re-heat..
Peanut butter and honey sandwiches are good.Add a sliced banana if you like.
Microwave a potato-pierce with a fork first. When the fork goes in easy-about 3-4 minutes cook time in microwave, take out, slice open, smush and top with butter and stuff like cheese, bacon, ham.

If you can make scrambled eggs, you can make grilled cheese sandwiches (or grilled ham & cheese). Just take two slices of break, lightly butter one side, slab on ham/cheese, cook in frying pan on low heat... flip with spatula once it's lightly toasted brown on one side. Then flip onto a plate when it's done! Serve with soup or a side of potato chips. Mmm, mmm, good!
