The clam that Moderation opens doorways to extremism is a touch stupid. Does Ketchup lead a thank you to Tabasco sauce? Do Donuts lead a thank you to wedding ceremony cake? Does examining the Weekly international information bring about a PhD in Astrophysics? If a man or woman would not like an severe view, then he could combat that severe view, no longer waste his time with a softer version of that view.

He is totally wrong, no religion true to its scruples can instigate extremism.Moderation or fundamentalism are just hypothectical terms. All religions are one to the extent of the achievements but all means adopted may not truly religious;often a psychological disease named religousity is taken to be religion. When the religion have traversed a longer distance from their sources, it is the religousity that overtake the essence of religion.True religion is the one which gets refreshment, frequently.

Read "The God delusion". He has a go at all religions there, but primarily the judeo-christian god. Since he lives in the western world, which is dominated by Christians, it makes sense to focus on Christianity.
In his two-part TV documentary "The Root of All Evil", he confronts a Jewish school in London and questions their seclusion from the outside world.
