I'd go STRAIGHT to the Superintendent and then before the school board. I'd take pictures of the fat lip and write down everything I was told, time and date. I would also press charges with the local police department. A teacher CAN NOT assault a child for any reason. If you don't you're saying it's ok to treat your child this way. Mom to 3.

Defiantly go to the principal, if not the school board. There is absolutely no reason in the world for a teacher to hit a child. Amazing that she/he would even admit it. Something needs to be done ASAP. Good luck!

No question, first bring it up to the principal. Then, make sure that teacher never teaches again! Sue, do whatever you have to do. It doesn't matter if your kid is the chattiest person in the world NO teacher has the right to strike a child, ever!

Press charges and ensure that any issues resulting from this episode are taken care of...IE if your child ends up in therapy for this make sure the school board is taking care of it. This can be damaging to a 7 yr olds scholastic career.

The teacher would have a fat lip of their very own and probably a black eye to go with it. I would go off the deep end. Then I would tell the principal and the school board then I would contact every news channel in my area and let them know.

the police department, forget the principle you can talk to them later! I would want this teacher charged with child abuse and endangerment and anything else I could possibly think of. Then sue the school, the school board..notify the local papers.... kids go to school to learn, an event like this could turn your child away school. I would never want my kids to be afraid of their teacher and afraid to go to school, they can't learn in that type of environment.

REPORT HER/HIM!!! Actually to be completely honest I would probably pop her/him in the mouth! Pick on someone your own size. That stuff just really annoys me. If your child was disruptive the teacher could've found some other way to discipline him/her. The teacher could've called you, sent the child to the principle, ect.

Turn her in. There is no excuse for a teacher hitting a 7 year old. She needs to be and should be fired.
Regardless, what the child did...turn her in.

i would immeadiately report it to the police, as well as the highest authority in the school, and school district. that is child abuse!! also, i would pull my child out of that school asap. that is a very serious thing. look into homeschooling, staying in the school but switching classes, private school, or whatever. school should not be a place where children are abused. if that was a daycare center or a nanny, you'd do the same thing. best of luck.
