Cookbooks suggest with other foods; I want to know from frozen shrimp only.

I don't usually do shrimp in the microwave, but if you do, please make sure that they are covered securely so they don't dry out. Shrimp cook very quickly, so I would start with 2 minutes and work up, depending on size and quantity. When they develop the traditional pink color you know they will be finished. Do not overcook or you'll be eating rubbery things!

It only takes a few minutes to thaw shrimp under running cold water. Don't ruin the shrimp by microwaving.... Marinate in Soy sauce then either pan fry or skewer and put on the grill. Or put the frozen shrimp in a steamer and cook that way... There are so many ways to do shrimp...
