I don't recommend violence, even if he deserves it. Might doesn't make right. But obviously this guy hasn't realized that, or he wouldn't have tried to force him on her. So definitely tell him off, let him know that it's not okay to try stuff like that on any girl. Better yet, report him to the police, his parents, the school. They will make his life much more miserable than one butt-whupping from you.
Your heart is definitely in the right place, and I hope you've convince the girl to dump this wanna-be rapist and report his actions.

I don't understand what it was this guy did. Did he just try his luck, or actually push it?
At any rate, I assume you already know for sure that this is what she'd like, and that it will definitely impress her. If not, of course, she's likely to be disgusted. But if thumping this guy will help you out, and if he deserves it, then you might as well get on with it.

I don't think violence solves anything. She should just separate from him and never go around him again. If he tried to rape her then she should report him to the police.
