My dog keeps on coughing up water, and his stomach keeps on grumbling. Also, he has been moping a lot and has a loss of appetite. Does anyone have any ideas?

He could just have a stomach virus of sorts usually dogs get symptoms similiar to ours. Wait a couple of days if it doesn't let up see a vet.

he has a problem without a doubt, it could be so many things
but so often have i heard of dogs with intestines "knotting" as i call it now for the lack of words, he could be in great pain, the problem with animals is they keep on going rather now they have pain or something else is wrong, u need to take him quickly to the vet, do not wait 'til its too late you would never forgive yourself, maybe if you just explain over the phone the symptoms your vet (depends on the relationship
you have with your vet) is able to tell you how serious it is.
some vets say right away you must bring him in just so the
charges go up, lucky me my vet doesn't do that, but no matter
what it sounds to me your buddie needs help ASAP, good
luck....

Could be several things, and most are pretty dangerous.

Could be bloat.. when the stomach or intestines twist & cause gas formation.. Can be deadly, and normally requires surgery. More common is barrel chested dogs, like pit bulls, boxers, bull dogs, etc, but can happen in any breed.

Poison is another cause...

Infections of any kind..
Stomach ulcers....

Get him to a vet asap.

I think you'd better call a vet. If his stomach is swollen and painful it could be bloat, which is very VERY bad. I hope you don't wait for answers and call a vet.

I agree with everybody else, get your dog to a vet ASAP! My dog once drank water with Drano (a drain un-clogger) and it was toxic, but she is fine......... but you should still DEFINITELY take your dog to the vet or animal clinic.

I would not waste time and take him to the vet before he dehydrates!
