Let her pay. She may have been in and out of her life but it sounds like she wants to do something nice for you. It may strengthen your relationship. Take your own spending money though so you don't need to feel like a burden if you want something extra.

Well, first of all...your mother is a hustla!!! Sorry, just thought that sounded cool. If you mother wants to take you on a trip and pay for it, let her. Who cares if she has been in and out of your life before...she is trying to be in it now.

She said she wants to take you for your bday, which is in may, but she may have gotten a better deal in August. You want to make sure you are 21 when you go anyway.

You shouldn't feel like she is supporting you, try and feel like she is doing something nice for you...that is what friends and family do from time to time. I say, take your mother up on her offer, go in August, and have a blast...you and your mother have a great time together.

I am sure that both of you deserve it...have a blast!

If she wants to take you as a Birthday treat you could allow her to pay. Material things are less important than memories. Go have fun and have a great 21st.

Well maybe you should do a 50/50 thing. You both can pay for each other. Like you can pay for one of her meals and she can do the same. That way you don't feel that guilty.

This trip is her birthday present to you, so it's all right to let her pay. She didn't have to invite you - she offered because she loves you.
If you really feel uncomfortable about it, offer to let her pay for certain things (the flight, the hotel room) but insist on paying for yourself for other things (dinner, drinks, gambling, etc).

Sure let her pay. Just make sure you have money in case of something going wrong. so you can get back home. My kids dad finally straighten up when they were in college. Somethime it takes some people longer to grow up .
