There is no legal requirement under English Law to study Law in order to call yourself a 'Solicitor'. The vast majority make it all up.

All solicitors have to be regulated by the Law Society and are inspected annually. They all have legal qualifications, so I dont understand what you base your question on?

Lawyers. liars. all the same. Promise one thing, end up giving you another. Never see a poor one though. They go through all that time at Uni (at who's expense?) only to learn how to make more money. A genuine solicitor I have yet to meet - all the tv c**p is exactly that.

Interesting ..... Though I would not hire a solicitor that didn't have letters after his / her name anyway!
I studied law as part of a different course but never knew I could potentially call myself a solicitor.

Perhaps i'll start advertising ....
