It depends...for example...I just gotta bruse on my leg like a week ago...and first it was red right.....well it turns purple or blue as a sign of healing....Like the blood flow is clearing up ....if your skin is turning purple for no reason...welll my friend you need to go see a doctor...ya dig?

It depends on the situation. Bruising and swelling may cause skin discoloration, as well as lack of oxygen. There could also be a reaction to an insect bite or allergies.
