Efecto de bola de nieve.

If you don´t say the word "efecto" then you don´t say the meaning of the idea.

snowball is just a bola de nieve, period.

"efecto bola de nieve", although the term is hard to translate into a language mostly used in regions where it doesn't snow. It is many times used as is, like "efecto snowball"
