These are GREAT! please take the time to read some of them.
Christians Beware: Reading these could make you feel rather foolish.

There's no reason, in theory, why god's presence couldn't be measured or detected in some way. The only reason that believers claim that god "can't" be detected in this way is because god *isn't* detected, and so a vast and intricate rationale has to be devised to explain this vast, loving, eternal, all-powerful "something" which is, in every external, objective respect, indistinguishable from nothing.

If atheism is a religion then abstinence is a form of sex.

doesn't it seem odd that the "evidence for the existence of god" is completely hidden from the greatest minds who spend their professional lives exploring how the universe functions, yet it's perfectly clear to uneducated simpletons who have access to the internet?

humility = believing that the entire universe was created with you in mind

Every christian who tries to escape the path of a speeding bullet with fear in his eye is an example of a "foxhole conversion" to atheism and proves they don't really believe in a heavenly paradise in the hereafter. There are a hell of a lot more of those conversions than there are of atheists to christians.

Can I just say how cute I think it is when a Christian thinks something is far-fetched?

Prayer is the act of asking an unproven omniscient, omnibenevolent, omnipotent entity to help you with problems he should already know about in ways he should already want to using effort that costs him nothing.

A sacrifice is not a sacrifice by definition if you get back what you supposedly sacrificed. At best, Jesus can be considered to have been inconvenienced for your sins.

Actually, that's not a bad definition, when you look at the properties of love as best we know them: Love is all in your head, it has no objective existance. Love is not a person - it has no thoughts, no ideals, and no personality of its own. Love is generally claimed to be a good thing, but people often do some very nasty and evil things in the name of love. Love did not create the world, did not create people, etc. Hrm. Now just replace the word 'love' with the word 'god' in the above sentences about love, and you will see that saying that 'God is love' is actually a statement of strong atheism." *grins*

Yeah. I like to think of [Pascal's Wager] not so much as a wager as it being a form of after-life insurance. The problem is that the cost is your integrity and you don't know who to pay the premiums to

Tough choice.

I suppose I like these two the most, though

'Doesn't it seem odd that the "evidence for the existence of god" is completely hidden from the greatest minds who spend their professional lives exploring how the universe functions, yet it's perfectly clear to uneducated simpletons who have access to the internet?'

and

'A sacrifice is not a sacrifice by definition if you get back what you supposedly sacrificed. At best, Jesus can be considered to have been inconvenienced for your sins.'

Does the field truthfully need to be atheism?? Im studying a publication by means of Umberto Eco referred to as "The Island of the Day Before." Very fascinating story approximately a person trapped on a ship (he can not swin) in a cove of a abandoned island. One of the characters within the books is an atheist, and he offers those rousing speeches even as swordfighting a clergy member and defeating him... Im no longer unique of the creator's devout tastes, however it kind of feels dubious that a non-atheist might positioned an atheist man or woman into one of these well gentle...

Where is the wise man? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not come to know God, God was well-pleased through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe.

I am a religious neutral, I beleive all religions are worshiping the same god/goddess. "IF" is a word used the most in neutralism. on the pro god side of IF, that god, or goddess, who's name we can only guess, who's face we can only guess, who's porpose we can only guess, sits back and waits, for some one to die, who decides how deep the river of passing is, how bright the doors light is, how foggy the path to the post of recreation is, who accomlishes what. life is like a large american Idol show, and this god (if he/her/it is there) is the judge. he/she/it only observes us, not help us, not reward us, not punish us, not protect us, but watch our progress. atheists do have a point. there reasons to be an atheist make sense, same with other beleifs. even christianity!

I don't have the time to take on them all so I'll take on the shortest one.

"If atheism is a religion then abstinence is a form of sex."

This analogy is very weak. It is like comparing apples and oranges.

Atheism is a ideology. It is a belief system. One that oh by the way has caused the deaths of more people in human history than any other ideology (see the barbarians, Communists, Nazi's and the nationalists that ran Japan in the early 1900's just to name a few).

Abstinence is an act.
