I call my other half Baby all the time. The other night I actually called him by his name and it sounded so weird. He asked to never do that again!

depends on your relationship and how comfortable you are with each other. I get a kick out of the fact you call him babe and so long as he's not emasculated by it, that's really++ cool.
My most frequent term for my wife is probably "baby" or "dude".

hahha. i typically call mine babe.
and then some other weird things: babylove, sweet thing, hot stuff, cabbage, frohg.
but that's usually when i'm feeling dorky. day-to-day it's 'babe'.
