There are so many things I think I need to do, I become so lost I don't even know what's really important. It's the simple things that may side track my whole life.
A dumb example: Say someone constantly parks he's car on my property. I've talked to him about it but it doesn't help. I'll start phoning alot of people. Asking for legal advice ... etc etc etc . The smallest things may just blow up in my head. How can I learn to stop this and have a "method" to work out on what things I should/can think about? I need "rules" to help myself and prevent my mind from losing it way?

Hi janne5011: That's an intersting idea of making clear goals and sticking to them.

Buy a planner where you can plan things out. You can make list of what you feel you need to do and number them of their importance to you. Ask yourself is this something I need to accomplish or do today. If not put it aside for the proper time.

Sometimes planning things out a day in advance can help. It sounds like you are very hard on yourself more than anything. Give yourself a break. Knowone has to be perfect.

Get a NO Trespassing sign for your property and the next time he/she parks on your property, have the car towed. That situation would get annoying and whoever is doing it has no consideration for you. You have rights.

Make a rule to yourself to Stop and Think when you feel yourself getting frustrated take some deep breaths and walk away.

If you feel like this is just something that is so uncontrollable I would recommend going and talking with a counselor to help you not get so frustrated and on edge all the time. good luck.

Is it possible to stand the anxiety it produced if you dont act on unessesery things?

Simply stand it or, find out your way to stand it more and more.
Another way can be : each morning take some mins and think of your goals that day, and do them but nothing else and look waht you can learn from it. Do it a week or two and look back.

some times i look at my arms and legs and remind myself that i am only human i tell myself, you are going to die everybody is going to die eventually walk through a cemetary there is silence you don't see anyone you don't hear anyone what really matters? if your health is good at the moment try to be greatful for that (i know it's hard to be greatful sometimes) i think we all fall into worry about small things it's really your life and good health that i think should be everyone's greatest priority but i do the same thing you do letting things eat away at me but i am working not to be that way. try to be cool not so serious it's only life and before we know it we will be gone

First of all you are not a prisoner of your mind. you can chose what to think and what not to think... don't entertain the thoughts... When you start spasm out, change your thoughts to something else. Work on a puzzle, wash dishes, etc. just something that requires a different kind of thought...

Tell yourself you are going to wait 10 minutes before doing anything. Then write it down. Itemize and read it back. Then wait until the next day and read it again.

I'm not kidding... take a yoga class weekly.

I've been there, and I'm stereotypical Italian also. I "did things" to their cars and their property, if you know what I mean...
