I'm only 18, so I'm really hoping I'm not, but...

I'm pretty sure I'm hard of hearing, or at least when it comes to hearing male voices. I'm a female, and whenever guys talk to me it all blends together, and I have to ask them to repeat what they said. I heard that at a certain point you can only hear what you hear in your house, and for about 3ish years now it's only been girls in my house, so could that be why? I still see my dad, and am around guys in school...so I dunno. I am tone deaf...so could it be connected to that? Or could it be "selective hearing"?

Get your hearing checked...the sooner the better. Hearing loss (as mild as yours seems to be) is VERY easy to aid and you could have close to normal hearing again. :D Good luck!

I hope you arent heading to deaf. It is very easy to determine, go to a hearing aids center and they will test your hearing (and try to sell you a hearing aide). Otherwise go to an ear, nose and throat specialist so your hearing can be checked. There are many new gimmicks out there that help the deaf. The eariler it is caught the easier it is to fix. Good luck.
