Why is the Green Giant so Jolly?

If you've ever seen the old commercials (I don't think they have them anymore), the green giant lives in a beautiful valley that produces the very finest vegetables on the planet. He's jolly because lives in such a great place (or perhaps he's jolly because he gets others to tend his crops at below minimum wage and he doesn't have to pay health care benefits, overtime, sick days, or vacation).
"From the valley of the Jolly (ho-ho-ho) Green Giant!" (that was the jingle in the commercials).

The Jolly Green Giant is always jolly, because he always eats his vegetables... LOL.

Because he eats his vegetables! Plenty of antioxidants and vitamin goodness do a jolly giant make!
