My girlfriend of 5 years last night decided we needed a break. I am an active person in my church and have a strong faith. Just recently she started going to another church that is somewhat fanatical (and you know what i mean). She went on a trip with some girls from her small group and they asked about me. They asked if I was on the same level religously as she is. She said no. Then the girl proceded to tell her that God told her to leave me because she cant give God her whole heart if i have a big peice of it. We have always been in church, its just recently she has changed drastically. She told me last night that we are unequally yoked and she needs time to further her relationship with God. Doesnt unequally yoked mean a believer with a non-believer? It doesnt add up.I also want to add that every girl in her small group does not have a boyfriend. Her mother and sister think she is taking things way too far.What do i do at this point.Is it a phase?Whats goin on?

You didn't mention what faith you are or what your girlfriend is entering.
I am Catholic and would never hear of this situation in my faith.
You need to seek knowledge on religions , sects and cults.

Do you love her? Is there a future for the two of you? If so, I'd encourage you to go with her to the new church she's found. Come up along side of her and then, when the time seems right, ask her to go and have a pastoral counseling session with a pastor or Christian counselor to talk about any concerns she might have. If she's looking for direction you'd want to find someone she'd listen to who has some spiritual and personal maturity.
If you don't go and align with her at this new church I'd think the relationship won't last much longer.
Perhaps you could go personally to have a talk with the pastor of her new church and feel him out on the issue. He may not know that such strong words are being spoken over peopl in that small group. I once had a pastor refer a man to me who claimed to be "prophetic" but was really spewing out all sorts of ridiculous things that were ruining people's lives. He needed to be called to account and between myself (a Christian psychologist) and his pastors, we were able to reign him in and make him stop making pronouncements over people's lives. This may be a similar scenario.

is she is doing all of tht just to b tru infront of god? if yes then tht means tht she wasnt heaven n rightly so, every one wants to go to hevean, god has said tht those will go to heaven who will do gud deeds on this world n deny bad deeds, ask her if love is a bad thign to hav in heart, ask her,,,"if tht is the cas etht those who belive on other belifs are to b hated ...Y DOES GOD LOVE ALL HUMNAS Y NOT ONLY THOSE WHO BELIVE IN HIM? Y GOD IS GIVING FOOD N THINGS TO LIVE TO THOSE WHO HATE GOD?"
love is not a game of few weeks or years. its not a puppet game too, u are not a kid n she is not a waste, dont break up unless ur dead damn sure u ppl cant go on. love has to go on with compormise n if ur girl is doing a wrong thing ull b stupid if u too do the same thing (to go away from her) u should tell her wht is she doing n wht do u think aout tht n plz try to find a path suitable for both of u

Seriously Mark - I know its been five years, I know you love her - but do you RELLY want to spend your life with someone who is that easily duped, controlled and manipulated?? She is the victim of a cult, man.
I know its hard, but I say good riddance. Get yourself a real woman. Ill bet you that group of girls turns out to be a bunch of clam-bumpers (not that there is anything wrong with that!)

My husbands ex-fiance did this same thing to him. Needless to say, he is married to me. She ended up getting married to her pastor 2 months after they broke up. Took him quite a while to get over the betrayal. I feel for you, but I want you to know that God has plans for you, that you must trust! I think I make my husband much happier than she could have, and Im cuter!!

It's a cult, try and get her away explain that god does not intend for people to break-up to believe in him, anyone that believes that is a fool.

It means she doesn't think you're good enough for her. Get her out of that group, and quickly as possible.
