Go camping on the beach at Thornhill Broom, or at Leo Carillo State Beach. Leo Carillo has a camping site with trees and trails, and you go under a tunnel and there's the beach, all within walking distance. They are both at Point Mugu, near the Santa Monica Mountains

do you have AAA? They have campground guide books.
i suggest you consider any one of scenic parks and beaches.
