i have a nine year old minipin and i never had problems with him chewing on stuff-probably because i provide him with lots of toys. he has a large open tupperware-like container on the floor, right beside his bed, where i put all his toys. this way they're always within his reach and i have a place to put them back in after he scatters them around! he loves plush toys-the stuffed toy type but don't give him ones made for people, these usually have parts he can chew off and swallow. buy toys made especially for dogs. he also has a few squeaky dog toys, they even have educational dog toys at petco! when he learns that these are his and he can chew them to his heart's content, hopefully he will stop chewing what's not his. if you do catch him chewing on something not his, say "stop" or something similar (but not his name, it'll make him associate his name with being scolded) loudly then give him one of his own toys. ask the salespeople which toys are safe to leave with him even when he will be alone. some toys are best given only under supervision.

as for the peeing, i suggest you thoroughly clean out the room he peed in so his scent gets removed (always keep cleaning agents out of his reach). train him to pee on newspapers in a certain part of the house by letting a sheet of newspaper absorb some of his pee, then putting it in the area you would like him to pee at. show him this area. praise him when he pees in the right place. he is still a puppy so expect some accidents. if you catch him peeing in the wrong place, scold him and if possible, take him to the newspaper area even while he is still peeing and let him finish there. never scold a dog after he has done something wrong, like if you get home and find he has done something wrong, it will be useless & cruel to scold him as he will not understand what he did wrong. only scold when you actually catch him doing something wrong, then he should get it.

lastly, expose him to many many people and other dogs!!!! my minipin did not get to do that and he ended up being unfriendly with strangers.

hope this helps!

I have a min pin she is 1year a 1 month old. Min Pins can be very stubborn and vengefull...I suggest having a crate for him and only letting him out when he has your undivided attention. Also make sure you take him out often. They seem to take longer to housebreak but if you keep consistant with it you should succeed. Also you need to clean the spot where he keeps "going" with something that takes the smell away and a deturent other wise he will keep going. Mine peed on the couch once and wouldnt stop I had to buy a new couch in order to get her to stop because she kept smelling the spot no matter what I cleaned it with....good luck!!!

the chewing first.....they have products at your local pet store to make it less tempting to him to chew...make sure he has LOTS of chew toys...when you catch him say "NO" firmly and give him something he can chew on...praise him immediately for chewing the toy....try crating him at night and when you cant watch him.....
now the potty problem....make sure to get all the urine stain and sent out of the room if he can smell it at all he will keep doing it cause it smells like a potty....try a gate that can be opened so that your daughter can go in and out but your min pin cant get into the room.......

I easily have 2 min pins and the two have been large initially yet one in each of them began to get blood in his stool on the age of a pair of million so took him to the vet and that they examined him, they pronounced putting him on some gentle nutrition so he now eats Eukanuba gentle biscuits for the duration of the day and a small volume of rooster mince alongside his biscuits for dinner. have not had any problems on account that, he''ll be 3 years previous in June.
