Ounce for ounce, the beer has fewer calories than the vodka or gin. But you do not drink them ounce for ounce. For a 12 ounce beer, you probably drink 2 ounces of vodka. The tonic without any sugar does not have calories. The ratio is about 1/6th as much. And you drink about 6 times the amount of beer to vodka, so they come out the same.
This is figured using the Composition of Foods book put out by USDA.

Vodka has roughly 65 calories per one ounce (1 shot). Depending on how much tonic and how much vodka you use determines how many calories you have. If you use diet soda you are taking in only the calories in the vodka. Beer varies in calories but most have 150 give or take, empty calories which is bad news.
Remember, one shot of straight alcohol has the same ammount of alcohol as one beer or one glass of wine.

A shot of booze is around 80 calories, most drinks would be more than a shot. The tonic is what will get you, it's like coke (full of sugar). An alternative is vodka and soda (club soda). No calories in club soda.
A lite beer is around 120 calories. A regular beer is around 200 calories.
My diet drink is Stoli Ras and soda.

yeah... You see, alcohol in any form is pretty much liquid calories. Lots of them, and they're empy calories, too. Alcohol usuall accompanies rich food, as well, so lay off on the chicken wings and order you're drinks with diet soda. Try Absolut Mandrin and Soda or Rum and Diet Coke.
