Not too long ago I suggested that they might even be willing to pay to be persecuted, especially as many of them claim to find it a confirmation of their beliefs .
How about it, Christians? I'll persecute the highest bidder. Who's in?

Go ahead and try. I'd like to see the 15% of the country that is spoiled rich hippies try to "persecute" the 83% that are hard working blue collar Christians. They might turn the other cheek a couple times but we can defend ourselves. Remember we are the military and the ones who hunt. Your flowers will not protect you nor will your little sarcastic comments. In the words of a great man "Bring it On!"

Really, if someone wants to kill me for my belief, I say go ahead. I'm not going to shut up about God. He has this category on here for a reason. I believe it's to help those who aren't sure and until I die anyone who wants help I will give it to. Unless you kill me. Then, I will live in happiness forever with God. But I can't be sure what my family and friends will do to you.
However, this is another one of those generalized statements about Christians. No one else seems to like it if people generalize on their groups, so why is it ok here?

go for it if you think you can persecute us.... you better make sure you have enough equipment to do the job the first time round... if not you better run for the hills and caves and get on your knees ... cause we will come after all you whiney evildoers. It is you in who whine... Christians were not doing a thing to you, but you that don't agree with their faith, you have became insecure and are not screaming discrimation etc... get a life...

The "Christian," just insofar as he takes his religion seriously, is a dupe. There's as little point in abusing him as there is in attempting to "enlighten" him.
Most Christians, of course, DON'T take the religion very seriously; and therefore one can reason with them. "Fundies" are simply beneath contempt.
*But a note on "persecution." The earliest Christians were fed to the lions, publicly for amusement - and that's exactly how the religion gained force. People wanted to know what mysterious power drove the "martyrs" ("witnesses") to defy death for their beliefs. (But before anybody screams "That's the power of Jesus!" - remember the "martyrs" of 9/11.) There is a certain glory in persecution. So for purely pragmatic reasons, I wouldn't be too anxious to bring back the lions.

it depends on what kind of christian you are talking about ?
like me for example i am a beginner in religion.
and my family are hells angels. so you make a better choice than the one you are trying for. that is just a suggestion.
know what you are talking about. be careful. some body may stop you from trying to be some thing you are not.

I kinda agree with you.
I am a Christian and I dont think Christians in America and other fairly religiously diverse countries have any idea what real persecution is. Getting criticized for what you believe in is not at all the same as being tortured or beaten up or even killed for your faith.

Everyone is persecuted in one way or another, for any number of things, their level of wealth, or lack thereof I should say, sexual orientation, color, belief.........whatever. Persecution is not exclusive to Christians.
Better idea, stop the shallow sore-heads from persecuting anyone, and then everybodies happy.

Change, "Christian," to "Jew," or "black," or "gay," and you would not dare write this, and your question would be erased, and your email account dropped. The fact you write this and it's okay shows they do, in fact, get unequal protection.
I'm not a Christian, by the way.

History has shown that the Church has done some severe persecution to those that refuse to conform to their beliefs. I think the next pogrom/holocaust/persecution will be done by the Christians just like the last several.
