Ok, #1 wash, vacuum and possibly flea bomb your house. Your cat should NOT have a flea collar on before a year old, it's dangerous and can cause eye infections. Give the kitten a bath. Fill up the tub to about chest height for the cat, toss her in, and then catch her by the scruf of the neck. (This prevents having your arms torn to hell by the kittens claws). Have you mother wash her in flea shampoo. Close the bathroom door, let the cat jump out of the bath after clean, towel dry as best you can and let the kitten run loose for a while. BATHE AFTER YOU TREAT FOR FLEAS! Medicate BEFORE! Also, go back to your vet an demand a medicine for your cat called CAPSTAR. It kills fleas within 24 hours. Good luck.

First off, FLEA COLLARS DO NOT WORK.
Second, the fleas have infested your house. Vacuum your carpet and furniture every day and empty the vacuum cleaner outside. This will sweep up some adult fleas and many of the eggs. The larvae are sticky so they will stick to your carpet until they are adults and laying eggs themselves, which is why the carpet needs to be vacuumed every day, so the cycle will be broken.
Also, shake out your kitten's bedding outside daily. The droppings of the adult fleas is food for the larvae. Shaking their food out will help keep them from flourishing.
As for you and your mom, put garlic in your food. This changes the taste of your blood and the fleas will be slow down at their nibbling on you while the flea cycle in your house is going down.
As for the Frontline, this is NOT A ONE TIME THING. Your cat needs a monthly dosage to be flea-free.
If money is an issue, many vets will sell you a Frontline dosage for a large dog, then give you a syringe and vials. This way, you can break the dosage down into eight small dosages. Each small dose is the right dose for a cat. This will give you an eight month supply of dosages for your cat.
Another thing, since your kitten had fleas, it very likely has worms. Frontline will not get rid of those. Take kitten and a stool sample to the vet to get her checked out.

You need to wash any bedding etc than can be washed. Vacuum anything you can't. You can flea bomb if you don't want to go to the trouble but you'll all have to leave the house, including the pets. You can grab a surface spray that will kill fleas and go around spraying a room at a time. Vaccuming is important, I can't stress that enough, it helps bring the fleas and eggs out to the surface so they can be eliminated. You can buy fullers earth and powder the carpets, leave it on and vaccuum up, it will kill fleas but don't let kitty walk on it straight away.

Frontline is good but it takes time to break the flea cycle and has to be used regularly to maintain a flea free environment. Ensure you worm your cat with a wormer which will kill flea tapeworm too..

You need to treat you whole house for fleas. Get some flea foggers - your mom should read the directions and put aside a day for fogging the whole house. That will kill fleas in carpets, drapes, furnitures, cupboards, etc. On the day you do fumigate the house, ALL living creatures - humans, cats, dogs, birds, goldfish, etc. have to be OUT of the house and not return inside until at least 6 hurs has passed since the fogger was set off.

It might not be fleas, but if it's fleas, then the Fleas are in the HOUSE, the fleas are in the HOUSE, not in your cat, they feed from our pets and us , they prefer our pets but they live in your house. Now that your kitty is on frontline you should clean up your house, DEEP cleaning, you don't need to flea bomb the house, you just need to put borax in all the shady places, under rugs, on your carpet, clean up every spot that is shady and dark. The Borax will kill the eggs in about 15 minutes, you can put the flea collar you used in your cat and put it inside the vacuum cleaner bag. Once everything is clean and Borax is everywhere pick the borax with your vacuum cleaner, dispose of the bag INMEDIATELY. DIE FLEAS , DIE.

If after this you still have flea bites then start thinking about bombing your house and treating your yard with flea insecticide, you can buy it at the hardware store for about 10 bucks.

You got fleas off the kitten but now they are running rampid in your home! They are only biting you because the flea repellent is keeping them from biting your kitten. You need to purchase something for your home like a bug bomb or something else. Call around or go to a hardware/ pet store and explain to them your delima. Someone should be able to assist you with the correct products to purchase that won't affect your kitten negatively.

you need to bomb your house. You can get flea bombs and this will kill the fleas. without fleas, you wont get bitten. You should also buy some carpet spray if you have carpets and after bombing, spray them down with the flea spray too.

I had fleas once and it was a horrible experience. The bombs worked great...I think i used Adams. You can find them at your vet or pet store. Just be sure to get everyone and any living thing out of the house while you bomb, otherwise you will kill the living thing.

good luck!

Frontline works great, but they don't make them for humans. What you'll need to do is vacuum everything and launder everything that you can. Then throw away the vacuum cleaner bag. Use a flea spray as directed on the package (vet can tell you what kind to use).

If you can afford it, get your carpets professionally cleaned. They can use a solution that will solve the problem, and they can also clean your upholstered furniture.

You're going to have to do a lot of vacuuming for your mom.

Never let her outdoors, which is where the fleas came from. Then, they make spray for furniture and carpets to kill fleas. Use this according to directions, and do it as often as the bottle says to (it will also tell you to vaccuum at certain times, I think to get the dead fleas up). And wash all bedding, curtains, throws, often (spraying them in between). Also, bathe her in flea dip as often as you can (consult either your vet or someone at the pet store), but don't let it interfere with the Frontline. I think the Frontline takes a while to work. After a while, your flea problem should abate.

It sounds like they are getting on your kitty from your yard and are coming into the house that way. First, you need to treat your yard to kill them there. Then you need to treat your house to kill the ones that have embedded themselves into the caret. You do this with bug bombs that you can get at the supermarket.......just read the label and make sure it will kill fleas. Be sure to follow the directions on the bug bombs or the fumes could be harmful to your or your kitty.

As a new cat owner, you DO need to realize that kitties are much safer if not allowed to go outside AT ALL. If they are kept indoors, they live much safer, healthier, happier and longer lives. There are a lot of dangers out there for little kitties, and most of them are much more dangerous than fleas.
