That might work if you are an ectomorph (see somatotypes) or even a mesomorph. Diet is very important no matter what your somatotype is. If you are engaging in strength training, make sure you are working all of your muscle groups (not all at once, of course) so that you train your body evenly.

There's an element of sarcasm to this question, but I'll answer. Chances are you'll bulk up. I tend to lean toward weights and ab crunches and stuff rather than cardio (though I know my cardio health is crap - I really do recommend doing a bit for your health, even if you don't care about weight loss). My arms look great, and my stomach is rock hard but certainly no smaller than when I started doing these exercises. If you're doing it for looks, not just strength, do some cardio.

Hey,

First of all your going to want to work your body evenly so target all muscle groups because, it would look bad and out of proportion and can strain other muscles that are less developed causing injuries.

If you work your whole body and eat healthy as long as your not over weight you will grow larger muscles. Cardio is not required to get in better shape but, is reccomended.

Hope this helps!

well you would get big arms and abs...and the rest of your body would look ridiculously out of proportion. and cardio helps kick start your metobolism therfore burning more calories and burning body fat...so...summed up...you need to work out every body part...not just arms and abs...and do cardio at least like 3 times a week...and it also depends on what you think a "healthy diet" is...

and all the other guys are retarded...sorry...but upper and lower body arent really connected..you just look funny if you dont do both

well if your like me and naturally skinny than youll basicly just grow muscle. Cardio is more for weight loss and heart/resperatory strengthening. But make sure to work out those legs its hard to get a lot of gains in the upper body without working out the legs.

Sounds like a typical surfer workout - all arms and abs, with no lower body.

Your results would also depend on the amount of weights your lifting as well as the amount of repetitions you're doing. (ie. If you lifted heavy weights w/ small reps or lighter weights with more reps).

There's no 'spot' training - it's all or nothing!

I think your heart would love you if you did cardio. I think lifting weights still makes your heart work harder than normal. I know your blood pressure goes up while weight lifting..

Don’t finish every last morsel on your own plate, but leave a mouthful as well as two. This clever little key means your host doesn’t offer to refill your plate, and you also don’t feel tempted to choose seconds.
