I always wanted a baby boy to be a Jr, but my fiancee is already a Jr, his father was not in the picture when he was a baby, so he really doesn't like his name. I think it's cute to have your first son named after you no matter if he is the 4th fifth or 6th, but how do you feel about naming a baby after a jr to be a third?

I dont see a problem with it. My friend (Peter the third) named his son after him (Peter the fourth). They ran an article in the local newspaper about it with a pic of the baby, Pete, his dad, and his grandfather (4 generation of Petes). The headline was Four-pete? "We've all heard of three-peats but this is the first time we've heard of a four-peat!"

personally i dont like it. You name your baby after you by giving him the last name. Every JR i have met never tell any body that they are jr's or the III'ds. I think you need to let your child be independent and let him have his own name. But if you are set on it then go for it. Its your child.

I think it's a great idea. My son is Jr. If his dad would've been Jr. I would've made him III.
