oh and as far as obeying the law of the land, I understand and agree but that would mean that speeding, jay walking, and spitting in public, are all sins as well as having expired tags, driving with out a license, not shoveling your sidewalk and not cutting your grass

My bible says:
29 Then God said, "I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food. 30 And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds of the air and all the creatures that move on the ground—everything that has the breath of life in it—I give every green plant for food." And it was so.

I don't see the co relation between eating food and smoking or drinking spirits....
However, I agree with you about everything in moderation ONLY if it's legal, because the bible also exhorts us to obey the law(s) of the land.

You know, it is funny the lengths that someone will go to, just to justify something that is wrong...drinking an occasional beer is acceptable...or a glass of wine, or maybe a mixed drink when done responsibly and legally...

1 Timothy 5:23: "Do not drink water any longer, but use a little wine for the sake of your stomach and your frequent cases of sickness."

Psalm 104:15: "15 And wine that makes the heart of mortal man rejoice, To make the face shine with oil,
And bread that sustains the very heart of mortal man."

1 Corinthians 6:9 & 10: "What! Do YOU not know that unrighteous persons will not inherit God’s kingdom? Do not be misled. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men kept for unnatural purposes, nor men who lie with men, 10 nor thieves, nor greedy persons, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit God’s kingdom."

I think that in the case you were prescribed marijuana by a doctor, then that might be the only acceptable exception, because then it would be legal and medically necessary.

I am a Christian and I understand what you are saying. The Bible does say that we have everything that grows on the earth to eat drink etc.The Bible also says that we are to take care of our bodies because they are bought with a price (essentially, dont ruin yoursel because you belong to God)

Moderation is Key.

The Bible never said that drinking or smoking are wrong, but it does say that drunkenness is wrong, which can be applied to us today in the areas of smoking drugs etc.

I believe some things (such as drugs or over drinking or smoking to much) should be avoided if only because they are so harmful to your body and mind.

It simply means that God gave us plants to eat. That verse does not have any implications about alcohol consumption or pot smoking.

I agree with the person who posted earlier about only doing those things that are legal however. Since pot smoking is illegal (at least in America), it's probably not a good idea to smoke it (from a Christian perspective)

God's word says to obey the superior authorities, which means you must obey the laws of the land in which you live, if it's illegal then you'd be sinning if you smoked it. Concerning alcohol, in moderation, you would not want to become intoxicated which dulls your senses and thoughts and opens you up for attack by Satan. Smoking is also a defilement of the body and does not show God respect for the life he gives you as smoking can shorten your life.

nicely, you notice, that's a tribal tale to describe how we've been given right here, not something extra. the guy or persons who wrote Genesis are not the 1st ones to have one, the two. who's to declare which one could be "precise," fairly because *all* of them are in contradiction with the scientific data of ways we've been given right here? even although, you've gotten a hard time advertising this...why, you could ask? If *that* area of the "e book" is incorrect and misguided, then what approximately this area? And this area? and so on, and so on. all of it falls, merely like a house of enjoying cards.

Smoke and Drink in moderation......I don't Smoke marijuana, but I do drink and don't think it is wrong until the next day if I drank too much and have a hangover......But I use the bible as a historical document not a religious thing. So, I don't know, it is your decision.

It's not what goes in that defiles, but what comes out.
Ask yourself, what is the fruit you produce after smoking a joint or having a few beers.
Is it of the flesh or of the spirit?

it says that plants are meant to be eaten. it also indicates that the ideal state for a human being is vegetarianism. there is no mention about plants being given for smoking. in fact, destroying a plant just so that you can smoke it is selfish and inconsiderate to the earth.
