why do guys deny things after a breakup?

my bffs ex boyfriend got her introuble,well acually they got themselves introuble,but there were consequences for both of them and he blames her for what he did wrong and he broke up with her,knowing very well that it was his fault to.well he started making up lies about what happend and was telling that to anyone who asked.she confronted him about it but he had no reponse. he even told his bff the lie(his friend didnt belive him so he got the truth from me and belives that more). but during the relationship he told her that he loved her, told her she was beautiful all kinds of stuff, like i belive he really did like her alot.but after he started telling ppl who asked stuff like no i never did lover her. shes ugly,never again will i go out with her, i dont want nothing to ever do with her...i dont belive thats true but why does he say stuff like that(he even said it in ear siatance of her). he has had 3 gfs since her,and do u think he still thinks about my friend, the one he did wrong

Sounds like she hurt him somehow and he is trying to cover it up, or depending on how bad the "trouble" was he is trying to distance himself from the fact that he did something stupid.

Yes he thinks about the sex maybe and using her. He is a loser your friend should do herself a favor and move on. If u said he is a liar than no that everything he tells u is untrue. Why would u want 2 b around someone u have 2 second guess all the time.

haha i tottaly understand what you mean! gosh i hate when they do that but i honestly think its because of their pride they want to make it seem as if "they dont need us" like just because we are through dont mean it will still effect me kind of thing u know?
