Don't you have to BELIEVE that NOTHING like a god or deity exist?

We always talk about science vs. religion...that is strange because so many in this forum talk about evolution for example being a fact. First of all it is called the Evolution THEORY and secondly it cannot be part of science simply because according to webster science is
1. things we can test
2. observe

I don't know, but I do not believe anyone lived 18 billion years ago, so we cannot observe it, second we can't test it or recreate it so really all it is, is a theory.

(bonus question) If the Big Bang produced hydrogen and some helium (as evolution teaches), how did the 105 elements evolve? Are evoutionists trying to tell me that Uranium came from hydrogen? Since one cannot fuse against iron. We need stars to make the elements and the elements to make the stars, which one came fist?

Maybe God just created everything the way it is, to make the Evolution theory look stupid.

Yes it is

Any belief can be considered a religion.

Also any religion can be considered a way of life.

Okay, you seem to be confusing a lot of different ideas.

First, evolution is both tested and observed. We have observed literally dozens of species spontaneously form from other species. If you have an academic library near you, I am certain you can find dozens of examples of new species in the literature. You would probably be impressed at the quality of the documentation as well. Further, we can observe the fossil record. There are no bunnies in the triassic. If there were, that would be proof against evolution. No one has ever found a counter example in the millions of fossils that have been collected.

Second, it is testable and is being tested at this moment. Scientists have been observing changes in DNA and the patterns of adaptation that are occuring around the world.

Third, evolution is a biological theory although it has implications for other theories as well. For example, what evolution really says is that systems change over time and that the present state is a direct result of the prior state. In that broader statement of evolution then it would apply to cosmology however that is properly the field called dynamics. If you take about two years of calculus, matrix algebra and some set theory you should be able to tackle dynamic equations with help. I would say it is a fascinating field but I have always found the equations painful, personally.

Finally, two topics to note. The first is that the discoverer of the Big Bang was a Catholic priest. I believe he found no contradiction between God and physics, but he did have his doctorate in physics and neither I nor you do.

The elements didn't properly speaking, evolve, rather they formed. Evolution is a different concept than formation. I am attaching links to both speciation and element formation. You can do the academic background work to look up the references in the printed literature.

Finally, atheism is not a belief system in the sense of a religious belief system, rather it is the belief in testing what can be directly observed and evaluating evidence empirically. The bible is evidence, but it isn't supported by other evidence other than itself and it is internally contradictory. It does not make it false, but it does make it a weak testimony.

Atheist is the lack of belief.
We can observe it in Viruses. We can test it by the fact that virsus adapt so significatly that they become a new type of virus to infect better.
The big bang theory? Who said it only produced Hydrogen and some helium? Evolution and the big Bang have very and I do mean very little to do with each other. Hydrogen becomes helium inside a start. The big bang a massive explosion contained enough energy to fuse these thing. A star isn't needed just a very high tempeture.
Maybe isn't a good assumption.

No, Atheism is not a religion.

No one that I know of call evolution a fact, but I have seen plenty of people here that call creation a fact...kind of how you are.
Who said that people were alive 18 billion years ago..maybe you should get some of your information straight before you come here and try to insult atheists hun.
Evolution can be part of science because it is something that has been observed..but once again, go do some more research before you try to insult people....oh wait I guess it's just easier for you to believe in a 2000 year old book than actually try and research something...silly me.

And I'm not even going to get into the elements with you because we both know that you either wouldn't understand what I was saying, or you would deny it.

Yes, Uranium came from Hydrogen through high energy thermonuclear reactions in large stars. Hydrogen -> Helium ->Carbon-> Silicon -> Iron. Each of these stellar transformations produces byproducts which include all the elements. Uranium is a byproduct of the fusion of Silicon into Iron.

Atheism is not a religion. Secular Humanism, which many atheists subscribe to, could be seen as a religion.

man learn some science and then post questions evolution not only has been tested but has even been recreated
as for the big bang it basically produced hydrogen and helium which fused into elements trow a process called Stellar nucleosynthesis(search it you are curios to long a process to write) so yes Uranium ca be formed out of hydrogen given time what came first neutrons protons and electrons which formed hydrogen and helium
maybe man created god just because its simpler to say he waved his hand and created everything

Believers talk about god as being a fact, isn't it a theory? Or do you have any concrete proof that's needed for something to be called a FACT ?

Atheism is a conclusion, not a religion

The big bang produced NO helium, I'd like to see any data that says otherwise and the big bang is not part of the evolution theory

Please, please pick up a basic science book

Some people merely fail to believe in God. This does not require believing in something else.

A scientific theory is not the same as a theory in the layman's sense of the term. A hypothesis graduates to theory when evidence is found to support it.

We can observe evolution through the fossil record, through biological engineering, and through microevolution which happens constantly. For example, we have neanderthals to show an ancestor of humans, we engineer plants for higher yield and resistance to herbicides, we see bacteria evolve to become resistant to anti-septics.

As the universe slowed and cooled, molecules began to form - protons and neutrons joined together in larger clumps to make the larger atoms. We got past iron once the universe cooled enough.

I can help with any further questions.

Wow, I was actually going to answer this until I read your comment about where the trans-iron elements come from.

Yes, stable stellar fusion stops at iron. However... supernovae are anything BUT stable, and fuse far beyond the iron barrier.

And no, I can prove that there is no deity with mathematically demonstratable facts. No faith, no belief. Just a lack of a necessary consequence of the existence of a deity as proven by the Church-Turing Thesis.

Is bald a hair color?

"(bonus question) If the Big Bang produced hydrogen and some helium (as evolution teaches),
how did the 105 elements evolve? "

Jesus Christ, elements don't evolve!! Only LIFE evolves. Evolution and Big-Bang have NOTHING to do with each other!

All heavy elements from Lithium and up were created as a product of fusion within stars. During a stars normal stage fusion can only produce elements as heavy as oxygen. As the star enters its final stage its internal temperature rises and it begins to fuse heavier elements up to iron. For large stars the process continues into the nova stage where the heavy elements including uranium and plutonium are created before the star explodes.

This is ELEMENTARY astronomy 101.

Get an education moron!

*chugs whole bottle*

*sigh*

No, Blinky, for the millionth time, atheism is NOT a religion. The A- prefix signifies an absence, in this case, the absence of theism, meaning the absence of religion or supernatural beliefs. Atheists don't believe in gods, demons, devils, angels, gnomes, fairies, the New York Yankees or the Easter Bunny.
Excuse me, I need to go pass out on the couch now.
