What's your theme?

We're getting ready to do a party for my 1 yr old, but most of the guests are 3-5 yrs old. Our theme is Rubber Duckys.

Our party bags are going to include a bottle of bubble bath, a bath pouf, and a beach rubber ducky. There will also be a pinata, with bubbles (for blowing), more rubber duckys, sunglasses, and inflatable beach balls. Okay, well some of that may be prizes for the games.

I didn't want to bombard the kids with cheap toys that would just be thrown away and candy, so that's why we choose the above.

Check your dollar store, and Oriental Trading for neat stuff in your theme.

We just had my daughers 2nd birthday party. I got all the little friends side walk chalk and a balloon. I know some parents don't like their children to have alot of candy. I spent $4 on each kid. Go to walmart and buy the small box of sidewalk chalk for 2.88. All the parents raved what a wonderful idea that the chalk was. And I was thanked for not giving out candy.

candy, stickers, raisins, matchbox cars, crayons, tablets of paper...For my daughters birthday I make up bags then put the bags inside a Pinata. (I have used both the one that you hit and the one that you pull the strings..go for the one with the strings!!! It is much safer) This way no one fights over the stuff in the pinata and everyone gets the same amount so no one is upset and it also is a party game.

Gift certificates to local children's activity center is really fun. Like the local kid's gym or play area. That way the parent can be involved also. Usually a big hit with the parents also, have fun!

Bubbles, or go to a teacher store they have tons of trinkets. Stickers, sugarless gum. You can also get those plastic beach pails and write their names on them for a beach theme and put the stuff in there. The dollar store is also good.
