My children are closer together (2yrs 3 months and 8 months old), but we potty trained our older daughter in January. First we said no more diapers. Then we bought a bunch of underwear (15-20 pairs). I encouraged her with a chart of progress where she got a sticker every time she went to the potty. I didn't punish her for mistakes. I told her mistakes happen, but made it very clear that pee pee in her underwear and subsequently on the floor is yucky. You have to underscore the fact that you and her father use the toilet. Babies pee on themselves, which is yucky. You don't have to overdo the yucky aspect, but honestly, it is quite yucky. Don't get discouraged (you will, but try not to)! They will pee on themselves (and Number 2 too) plenty of times. But then they get it. They should be made proud of their achievement. It took us about 2 weeks before she was able to say every time that she needed the potty. We still use diapers for her nap and at night. It will happen for you. Just stick to your guns. To sum up: Diapers yucky, dirty underwear yucky. Keep your underwear dry like Mommy and Daddy. Sticker for her efforts. Forget Pullups.

So many times children will regress when they have a younger sibling. Do you already try the training underwear, not pull-ups because they are really like diapers but the underwear that is made of cotton but thick in the crotch so if she has an accident she will feel it and she wont like it. And make sure you reward her when she goes potty, give her lots of praise, stickers, hugs and kisses and maybe even a potty song. She will love that because it gives her special attention. It will be difficult but just be patient she will get it, GOOD LUCK!

You are more often than not going to need to step again and begin far and wide once more. I wonder whether it is become a energy battle? Sometimes babies would possibly not cross readily seeing that they're feeling plenty of stress to head and simply begin to battle it. Not constantly regardless that, seeing that routinely they are simply now not interested by making use of the potty. Either method, begin far and wide. Do a brand new present application, new decal chart, the whole lot. You wish to difference the dynamic. Come up with a present she'll relatively love (the ice cream cash sounds first-rate to me, however it is it seems that now not motivating adequate). You can take a look at a particular deal with, a decal chart that is formed like a crown, a hat she most effective will get to put on at the potty, lip moisturizer she will be able to most effective use after going potty, or anything else you suppose she'll like. Then, you more often than not ought to begin taking her potty on a steady groundwork and having her cross. By now you more often than not know the way lengthy she will be able to keep it earlier than desiring to head once more, so set the timer for a fair time and continuously take her. You would possibly need to do that for a pair weeks, however as soon as she will get within the dependancy of not peeing and pooping on herself then she'll regularly begin happening her possess. Whatever you do, you need to keep calm and take a look at to not appear overly pushy with the potty coaching. If you'll, make it appear extra like her concept "I recognise you are gonna wish to place a decal on that new chart, so permit's cross take you potty whilst the timer is going off!" and many others. Good good fortune!

you can get her own potty chair and put it by the big toilet. and get a chart started and tell her everytime she uses the potty , she can stick a sticker on the chart and at the end of the week you can give her a special treat. good luck. and praise her when she uses it. and get those pull ups instead of diapers. good luck.

Pull ups are good for out and about and overnight. The 3yo I nanny for wouldnt use the potty on his own until we put himn in underwear and he had pee run down his legs a time or two. He gets it now and rarely has accidents, only took a couple weeks.

Take away her nappy and when she wets her pants explain to her that big girls go on the toilet and make sure you give her loads of praise when she does the right thing. But be warned...do not give in to her and use nappies again.
