Good for you! If you check out this site, there are several articles about cat nutrition along with a tried and true recipe for making your own cat food.

Just one warning about making your own cat food - you can't just slap things together. Cats have very specific needs which must be met. Be sure to bone up on cat nutrition (the site below will be of great help) and make sure that your recipes include the supplements that cats need, particularly taurine.

That's why I make my own. I know what goes into it and where it comes from. It may not be perfect and it is the best I can do.

Aside from Rune's link there is a site: www.rawfed.com with a lot of information including about cats. There are Yahoo groups you should consider joining: naturalCATS, RawPaws, rawkatz and a Raw Feeding. You should choose one or two so you can read archives for recipes and have dialog with other members re their experiences with it, how they go about making it. etc.

Making your own food is the best if you have the time. If you check www.natura.com they have a list of every commercial food and gives you true facts about the ingredients, its a great site!

i've thought about that before, but millions of cats and dogs eat it every day and they are just fine with eating it-
not talking about the crap that just got recalled just in general!

Well if the food is so terrible, do you have any recommendations until you make a heathier food?
