Just wondering from anyone who has taken Lamictal, if it has been helpful, any side effects?
Does it affect libido or weight?
Please, PLEASE don't answer unless you have first-hand knowledge

I take 100 mg of Lamictal a day. I've been taking it for several months now.
I don't have any weight gain problems or libido problems.
The main side effect for me is constipation.
I don't think it's terribly helpful for me, but my doctor wants me on it regardless. If I notice any results, it's that I'm calmer, but nothing major.
(I also take Geodon 40 mg and Abilify 10 mg which help a lot.)

Lamictal doesn't have any effects on weight, but it might have affect libido. If it does, let your prescribing physician know. It is used for mental stability and is also used as an anti seizure drug.

I'm on 200 mg 2x a day and I think it's been working great. It hasn't made me gain weight or have any of the bothersome side effects of most anti-depressants. Good luck.

I'm on it and I have no libido (however, I am on several other meds too). As for weight, there haven't been any problems.
I really, really like this med though...if that helps.

I take it everyday and it has caused me to lose a lot of weight. When I first started taking it, I got really sick and couldn't eat without throwing up.
