Labels are like the games we all play. Sometimes they are useful, sometimes a hindrance.
The problem is when people start to take them too seriously and think that's ALL we are.

I disagree. I think labels are fine for people as well, so long as we realize that each person is unique (hmm, is that an oxymoron? Remember...you're unique, just like everybody else!) and that the label isn't the defining factor. It's just more of a guideline. I mean you could put a post-it on me that says "Christian" and one that says "witch". Labels should be like keywords rather than definitions.

HI
All labels are meaningless and can not truly describe anything. for example they labelled my kid with ADD he is now an adult and his labelling has been changed to asperger syndrome he was mislabelled, his whole childhood he was labelled and treated for the wrong disorder, and on the news they were just talking about labelling on food packaging for under 0 grams. That means it can be .09 grams per serving but since it is under 1 gram it is considered 0 grams but the thing you need to know that if you eat more than one serving those.09 grams can add up fast into over a gram and that could be bad for someone.

It depends on the label.
Labeling something nutritious, such as most items found at McDonald's, can be misleading or bad.
Labeling someone a hard worker could make it easier for them to find work, which would be good.

As a rough guideline labels are o.k. for people too; it is the 'absoluteness' of the labeling by people, towards other people, that presents many current problems with people currently in the USA.

Agreed. Although sometimes they make life easier, They tend to compartmentalise people, And no matter how closely you agree with your label, there're always parts of you that they trivialise and ignore.

I agree. Labels recognize only one attribute of a person.

I agree, but most labels are created by the people themselves.
