I have a 6m/o black cat, she is so darn adorable it's pathetic.
She is generally an indoor cat but for about an hour a day i let her go out back in our yard. She likes it, but not for too long. Well, today i thought she had found a baby chick and killed it, so i ran outside to see this thing running of and it was lil bunny no bigger than my palm. I never thought Beau would kill something, she is just so sweet natured and gets along with our dogs and neighbors pets, she wouldn't even swipe my neighbors fish. But she literally skinned this bunny and has been acting so strangly all day. The look in her eyes is no longer that sweet look, she just looks different and is even acting different, more aggressive. My 2y/o dotes on this cat but when she tried to pet Beau, she got swiped at (not cut). Should i be worried about diseases infecting my kitten, how do i clean her nails of the nasty stuff caught under there from the bunny? She won't even let me bathe her anymore, she used too....

She is simply growing up and learning to hunt. You have yourself a teenager cat.
My advice to you is to keep her inside as she will start wanting out more and more if you keep giving her that taste of freedom. (indoor cats also live 10 years on average longer then outdoor cats).
If she isn't spayed then get her spayed as going into heat will worsen this problem.
I wouldn't worry about disease if she has her shots.
Clean her nails with a warm damp face cloth.

She was obeying her instincts. CHances are the non-sweet look you are seeing is something you are projecting. You either have an indoor cat or an outdoor cat. Indoor cats live longer.
Your cat will clean her own paws. They are pretty fastidious. If you are worried, use a cat bathing product from a pet supplies store and pray it on a towel. "pet" you cat with the towel. If you think about it, her paws are always going to have gernms on them - She walks in her litter box.
I wouldn't let her out again. She is going to want to but don't do it. If she gets into hunting she will want to be out all the time. Get her some toys to chase around. Give her a few days to calm down from today's excitment.

I doubt there will be any permanent change in her behavior. She's probably just been extra hyper today. As for killing the bunny, she IS a cat and they ARE a killing machine. We don't always like it, but it's a part of them.
If she keeps acting aggressive, talk to the vet.
I would hope that she's up to date on her shots, even if she only goes outside for a little while
Indoor cats are perfectly happy and healthy, and there are SOO many things that can't happen to them if they're kept indoors.

No matter how cute cats are, they still have a wild streak in them, by nature. ALL of them. I have 3 of them and I keep all mine indoors, I love them to death and they are all adorable, but I know they still have a wild streak. Some cats will tear apart a mouse or bird, even eat them, or some will play with them until they die. Your kitty is growing and may also be ready to be fixed. That calms them down a little. She probably has some crazy kitty hormones racing through her body, she is a preteen. Also, hopefully since she's six months old, youve taken her to get her booster shots, if you have never and you are letting her go outside, get that cat to the vet pronto!! If she has had rabies vacc, I wouldnt worry too much about her having that. If all else fails, I would just call your local vet and ask. Cats are hard to get to let you even mess with their feet, not to mention their claws, I know mine clean them themselves. I am sure eventually, she will clean all the gunk out of her claws herself. I wouldnt recommend YOU trying to clean them. If she scratches you or your child, DEFINETLY clean the scratch immediately with hydrogen peroxide and Neosporin. Even if they dont kill animals, cats have germs under their claws from digging around in the litter box.

Rabies, has she been given a shot for rabies?
Rabbits are known carriers of rabies, and if you don't get your cats shots (because mine are mostly indoors, mine haven't been kept up with either).
That whole "rabid" temperment is very suspicious. I would make an apointment with the vet. Also, pay close attention to your cats eating and drinking habits.

i wouldn't worry too much about her-that is just in all cats nature to do that-(yeah it is gross and sick)- she is just all excited and pumped up that she was able to so that-she is in her hunting mode right now-trust me she will calm down and relax a little after a while and be that sweet cat she always was-just every now and then like most cats she will get that way again and again-it is perfectly normal!
one more thing to add-if she will be going outside and playing more often-i do beleive you should get her shots for yours and her protection!!

its a natural instinct for a cat or kitten to hunt and yes, sometimes kill there prey, when she brings it to you she thinks she is bringing you a present,so you cant scold her, was the kitten playing when it swiped at your daughter? has she had her shots? if not, you should get them,,, especially if she is going to be outside, if even for an hour a day.. good luck
