OK this may be a really stupid question but I dont know how to cook at all. I want to make a salad with grilled chicken strips in it. I have two raw chicken breasts. So... how do I do it? Do I cut the breasts into strips while the chicken is raw or do I cook it first and then cut into strips? Thanks for any help.

Cook it first, definitely. If you don't, the little slices will fall between the cracks on the grill. Not to mention, it'll cook just fine as one whole piece (that's how everyone does it). All you have to do is rinse off the chicken to get that slimy stuff off, cut off any parts that freak out out (i.e. those white stringy skin parts), add the seasoning you want, and then put it on the grill. When you think it's about half way done (5-10 minutes depending on how thick the breasts are), flip that sucker over and cook it for an additional 3-10 minutes on the other side. Before you take it off the grill, cut it in half on the thickest part to make sure that it's fully cooked and flaky in the middle. If it's still pink or slimy, put it back on and check again in 2-3 minutes. Take it off the grill, slice it, and then put it on the salad! Ta-da, you're done! Good luck!

You can grill the whole breast then cut it into strips. You can do this on a BBQ pit, gas grill, or even in a frying pan with a lil olive oil and onions. Season to taste.

Your question has been answered so I will make a recomendation. I love to mix 1/2 cup olive oil with a packet of dry vegetable soup mix (any dry soup mix works). Roll your chilcken in this then grill. Cut and add to your salad, this gives great flavor!

I usually cook it on the George Foreman, and will cook it before slicing the chicken, otherwise I'll cut it before hand if cooking on the skillet. If you don't have a George F. invest in one, I love it and it saves a lot of time!

Cook it first before slice it so it can retain its juices.
Make sure you cook it through. Perhaps you can marinate in Italian salad dressing for an hour to give it additional flavor.
