I am doing a birthday party for my 4 year old son at home with 8 of his friends, has anyone got any ideas for party games, seeing as the weather has got bad again. Thought of the usuals, pass the parcel, sleeping lions, musical bumps etc. Any more ideas would be great, but we have only got a small house!!!

I shouldn't bother with any more than that. The food bit of the party will take ages and the kids will amuse themselves with all the pressies your son gets. My daughter recently went to a 4 yr olds party. The spent an hour amusing themselves. Played a couple of games - pass the parcel and musical statues. They then had their food and by the time they'd finished it was time to go home! They all had a really good time. Good luck!

Try to think of games that will go with the theme of the party.

Train theme: Make trains out of big boxes..have the kids decorate them and then go on a train ride

Cat theme (very different I know but so cute): Have them make the ears, paint on whiskers... Play hide and seek the cheese... Find the mouse hole (place black paper shaped like a hole in the wall around the house)

Movies and pizza go over big with that age. Don't worry too much about complexities...keep it simple, he will love every minute of the attention, no matter what. Have fun!
