First of all, why are you giving your dog sleeping pills? If he has a condition that he can't sleep, he needs to go to the vet.

If it is for a trip, then a vet will give you sedatives. It is never okay to give your dog human medication unless specifically instructed by a vet

This is a question that you should be calling the veterinarian about. Not asking uneducated people on Yahoo.

Give the wrong type, or too much, and you'll poison your dog.

Why does he need sleeping pills anyways? Take him for a walk, play with him, and find other NATURAL ways to wear him out.

My vet gave me a prescription sedative for my Great Dane to use on his first camping trip in case he had trouble with all of the noises.

We followed the vet's directions specifically and the sedative worked well.

He did not recommend we use it on a regular basis.

So as others have commented, talk to your vet. Sedatives work if taken properly and prescribed by your vet.

None. These drugs are not safe for use on dogs. you'll need to get drugs from a vet to calm or encourage a dog to sleep.

I am not a vet but I dont think it is safe to give your dog any type of pills unless your dogs vet has prescribed them to the dog.
