No. It will turn green. my moms did once. They had to put tons of red die in it to make it brown again.

Best to put a leave in conditioner in so the hair absorbs the conditioner and not the chemicals in the pool, minerals of a lake or salt of the sea....or just wet your hair first with fresh water. Colored hair is more porous so it absorbs all that stuff quickly and can affect the color,if it's already wet with conditioner or fresh water it's like a wet sponge-there's not room left for absorbtion.

Health wise, yes its safe. But hair wise, well dying your hair to begin with isn't healthy for it. It may turn lime green. This happened to me, but with a few showers it washes back to blonde. (This depends on if it is from a home-brand or a salon, mine was a salon dye.)

No, it isn't. The dye in your hair is still working in your hair and the last thing you need is a black stained pool. Lol. My mom is a hairdresser in LA and says that it's best for you to not wash your hair until the 3rd day so that the color really stays.

once my friend dyed her hair blonde and it turned green after swimming because of the chlorene in the water... safest to leave it to settle for a while first
