They would have given you a temporary license (slip of paper) when you completed the driving test. That, and a photo ID, should be sufficient. Else, forget it.

What do you mean when you say the license hasn't ****thru yet? If you passed the drive test, they would take your picture right then, and away you would go, with your license in hand. Did you not have proper identification, and they are holding the license until your id is verified? If that is the case, you cannot legally drive until you are notified and receive the license in the mail.
