How do you know if 'he' is the one?

My perspective other has been dating me off and on for the past 3years. Problem, 1) he is a very close friend of my ex-boyfriend, 2) he lives in another state, 3) it took me 2 1/2 yrs to get him to open up to me. His brother an cuz just got married and now for the first time ever he asked me if i love him. (first time he ever used the word love to me). Trouble is i do. But i dont want to hurt anyone. His job occupies the majority of his time, he never cheated on me but he did mess with a couple of ladies when we were seperated. But he told me about it. What could i say? we werent together. So ......is he the one????

I glanced through many of the answers that were given.
Their is a piece of truth, in them all. right off that bat, how do they make you feel. are they kind and under standing.
Do you want to spend all your time with them. Do you comunicate well.No matter what is said there is no love at first sight. Lust yes, love no. Only time will tell you if you have made the right move. Be carefull it is a lie that time heals all wounds. You forget, and the pain does go away. But a bad relationship haunts you. I am 50 and been around the world.I love life and all it has offered me. I am happy with who I'am However I made myself that way. Knowone can make you happy but yourself.

take the time to get to know them.

find out if you have the same life priorities... has a life plan or goals.... are they similar to yours?

discover his moral principals.

figure out what you have in common......

we can feel as if someone is the love of our lives, then reality sets in and we are sooo different. so, my best advice is to take time to get to know them, and then decide if he is "the one" or no.

unfortunately, we can't live on love alone.
