I am 13 years old and writing an essay on fossils and how they prove or disprove creation and evolution. There is a ton of info. Just wondering about narrowing topics down under that title. And what do you guys think about it?

You don't need to pick a side. You can gather your information and present it and let the reader decide, if you want.
As far as the topic, origin of life is a passion of mine, don't get me started! lol
Meaning, I think it is a fascinating topic and you should end up with a great report.

They prove Creation and the Flood.

The reason animal/human fossils disprove evolution is the lack of a missing link. Everyone thinks of the half-man, half-monkey missing link - all the ones that have been 'found' have been proven to be something else - but people tend to ignore the fact that we should have THOUSANDS of viable, recognizable fossils of all of the other links - and we don't.

If you look up Answers in Genesis I'd bet you'd find a way to narrow down that topic! There is so much I could say on this subject off the top of my head that I don't want to even type it all out, but they'd probably be able to have things stated more concisely.

I think they prove creation, because they have found a dinosaur print next to a human foot print and if evolution was true then they would no coexist next to each other, but that's my view.

I would make a kind of outline of all the important info and use that, there are so many good websites for this subject, sadly there are some bad ones as well, try searching for the topic narrowly. Hope this helps at least in some way. :)

Pick a side and stick to it. It's easier to argue that the fossil record supports evolution, because it's right - it does. The problem with creation is that it can make no predictions - all it is is 'god did it'. That doesn't tell you what the fossil record should look like. Evolution does.

Try the evolution of the whale, all the way from a bear-like creature to a whale. It's pretty cool, and there are dozens of fossils showing the evolutionary steps.

EDIT: Wow, cris. Sorry, there is no 'missing link'. You're not going to find a fossil that's man on top and monkey on the bottom, which is clearly what you're looking for - that would DISPROVE evolution. There are plenty of transitional fossils - if you think about it, every fossil is a transitional fossil.

I believe that fossils support Creation. As Cris mentioned, Answers in Genesis has a great deal of information on this topic.

first you have to pick a side: evolutionists believe fossils show how life changes over time. Creationists believe they are proof of noahs flood that killed evrything that wasn't on the ark.

Are you just doing a intellectual discussion of the evidence for both sides? Or are you only going to be addressing one? Decide which one, then seek evidence for that.
