for quite a while now i have been waking up in the mornings with like thick mucus in my throat i can cough a bit of it up but i still have a feeling of stuff stuck in my throat/chest. is this what one calls catarrh? i'm not sure..... i am kind of paranoid that i have bad breath, so it is just getting really annoying. i occasionally cough up these little tonsil stones as well.....pretty nasty. so yeah...i'm not sure what i'm going to out of posting this on here but i just want some advise because i don't really want to go to the doctor unless i really have to because it is kind of rank .xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

No1 I would get help to stop smoking if you do, because this may be one of the causes for your ailment. And secondly I would spend every night closing yourself into the bathroom and turning the hot water on to fill your bath, then breath in the steam. And whilst your at it, when the bath cools down you can go in it!! two for the price of one.
Plus Try > Onions and sugar with water, to make a juice (cook this in a pan, my mum used to give me this). And make some hot honey tea and lemon ( I know its for sore throats but this is fab for catarrh)
If this all worsens, Im sorry but you should make a trip to the doctors because it could turn into an infection.
Anyway hope my advice helped! x

Mucinex is great for this. The muces will come up, usually with no coughing, it just comes...and very often, be prepared with a bag to spit in if your on the road.

First of all, you need to start drinking lots of water and juice. Second: are you thoroughly cleaning your cups, utensils ect. properly? If that doesn't work, you need to go see a doctor, because it could be a bacterial infection
