HI
That is really high it is usually 5 to 8 hundred but they do need lots of fluid and it is a mess to clean once the diarhea kicks in, go to parvoguard and call their business they know a lot and can help you make a decision. just google parvo guard and get the phone number there is somone there all the time. 3 days I would see if you get a refund or help with the vet bills you are entitled. Most states do have a puppy lemon law for infectous disease up to 10 days from date of purchase for a full or partial refund and help with half the vet bills. Hope this helps.

parvo virus is a highly contagious disease,and if not treated in the right manner it could be fatal.your dog may have conracted it while she was with the breeder. I know this may be hard for you,but find a reputable vet with smarts as to find out what to do about your dog, take the dog there,get a acceptable answer and pick it up from there. You shouldnt wast any time,the dog is a member of your family do your best for it. rubberstampr.

To really have any luck at getting such a young dog through Parvo, you need to leave her with a vet! Parvo dehydrates your dogs intestines and will kill her. She needs to be under the supervision and care of a vet. My neighbors, this past November, lost their dog to Parvo. We live on an Army installation and they tried to have a medic put an IV in him but it didn't help. They couldn't keep him hydrated and he died. Younger puppies don't usually fair well with Parvo even with treatment. Good luck!

Highly treatable. You should have a coverage for time from your breeder for guarentee of health. Parvo can sadly be deadly. Immediate treatment is needed to save it. Dehydration from the fuild loss through constant bowel and nausea. This isn't just a pet, but a companion. Rememeber, you probably paid a good price for this new family member. Isn't that worth it to cover its healthcare to? Once you make it through this. Consider healthcare coverage. This is health insurance for pets. Its greatly reduces your costs in times like these. Good luck. {I am not employed by any agency, nor do I sell insurance for pets and or humans.}

Parvo will kill your dog if not treated very soon. It's also contagious to other dogs as well. No it's not from a vaccination dogs get vaccinated for parvo though. Call the person you got your pup from and let them know if one pup has it then most likely all of them did.

Yes it is cureable ....IF you catch it in time and let you vet know. It requires a lot of IV treatments and medincine and care. Take your dog to the vet immediately!!!! If your pooch makes it ok, then tell the vet that you want to have all the vaccines current and up to date. dHLPP and Bordetella, and a heartworm check every six months. i never said parvo is caused by a vaccination. Parvo is a gastric virus that is spread by mucus and any type of bodily fluid. FECES , URINE, SALIVA, etc

Parvo virus destroys the villi in the dogs intestinal tract. If she has a lot of bloody diarrhea, she may need a blood transfusion. Also she needs IV fluids to restore her electrolyte balance from vomiting/dehydration, in order to prevent kidney failure, and may need to get IV glucose to feed her. It takes approx. 7 days for the villi to regenerate. Feed her chicken broth with rice by the spoonful, if she will take food. She needs vet care, and if the vet says he can get her on the road to recovery in 2 days, get her there as soon as possible, as without the prescribed treatment, the virus can be fatal. Usually it is passed by coming in contact with the infected feces of another dog. Highly contagious to young dogs , as their immune system is not fully developed. Keep her separate from other dogs for 2 weeks,Repeat infections are rare, usually does not affect older dogs. Get Vet care NOW.

It's not from the vaccine and you need to call your breeder asap! Parvo is very bad and she may die even with treatment, and $2500 is about right for the treatment. How much did you pay for your mix breed dog from a "breeder"? Live and learn. Take her back to the breeder and get your money back.

i rescued a pitbull pup with parvo,he did recover,however it took months of recovery time and weeks of IV treatment and the cost was in the thousands.
The majority of pups will die,but if caught and treated early you do still have a chance.
